BASICS IN DERMATOLOGIC SURGERY
Locoregionally advanced melanoma : surgery stays the choice. Here I present complete removal of the metastatic spread under local anesthesia.
Surgery is the main treatment for recurrent melanoma, where doctors perform a local excision (wide local excision) to remove the tumor and surrounding tissue. If the recurrence is in a limb, options like isolated limb perfusion with chemotherapy may be used. For advanced or metastatic recurrence, surgery is still considered the main option to remove the recurrence and can significantly improve survival rates.
