BASICS IN DERMATOLOGIC SURGERY
Advancement flap from the cheek to the nose for covering a defect after high risky BCC removal.
Perfect postoperative outcome in that case.
An advancement flap, particularly a cheek advancement flap, is a surgical technique to reconstruct defects in the paranasal area (the area around the nose) by sliding adjacent cheek tissue into the defect. This method is effective for full-thickness defects in the paranasal region, especially those exposing muscle / bone, because it preserves the facial contour and creates well-camouflaged scars in aesthetic lines. It is often used after skin cancer removal and can address issues like a full-thickness cheek defect or bone exposure at the nasomaxillary junction.
