One step melanoma surgery is the best method to manage thin melanomas. We are performing it daily in our clinic.
“One-step melanoma surgery” (OSMS) is a surgical approach where the entire melanoma and the necessary surgical margin are removed in a single procedure, based on a preoperative assessment of tumor thickness and lymph node status. This can avoid a second surgery for re-excision, which saves time, reduces patient discomfort, lowers the risk of surgical complications, and is more financially efficient.

This method is applicable to certain patient groups, particularly those with thinner melanomas, and can be guided by clinical, dermatoscopic, or ultrasound findings to determine the appropriate surgical margin.
Here clinically and dermatoscopical there were data evident for thin melanoma and the decision was made : surgical removal in 1 session with 1 cm surgical security margin. Subsequent performed histopathology has confirmed the diagnosis of thin melanoma. Without ulceration.
