Dermatosurgery/ Dermatologic surgery for subungual located glomangioma/ tumour under the nail

The dermatosurgical excision is the definitive cure for a Subungual glomangioma (glomus tumor under the nail), involving approaches like transungual(nail removal, incision through nail bed) or lateral subperiosteal (for peripheral tumors) to completely remove the tumor and capsule, aiming for immediate pain relief and minimal nail deformity, with recurrence rates generally low but varying by technique and dermatosurgeon skill.

For symptomatic subungual glomus tumours (as in the case shown here by me), surgical removal is the standard treatment, with specific techniques chosen based on the tumor’s location to ensure complete removal and preserve nail function.
