“Onkoderma”a was founded in 2013 by Prof. Dr Georgi Tchernev.
Prof. G Tchernev is a dermatologist and dermatosurgeon with internationally recognized contributions in the field of dermatological surgery and dermatological oncology: for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, and 2025), he has been ranked/indexed by Stanford University among the top 2% of scientists worldwide.
His clinical and practical contributions in the field of dermatological surgery and dermatological oncology also rank him among the top 0.05% of scientists worldwide, but this time according to the academic platform in California , USA- Scholar GPS/in 2024/.
His interests and achievements are related to 1) the recognition of new, modern, and at the same time key aspects concerning the pathogenesis of skin cancer, but also 2) the introduction of new reconstructive dermatosurgical techniques for the successful treatment of skin cancer in high-risk areas.
He is the founder and chairman of the Bulgarian Society of Dermatological Surgery .
“Onkoderma” is a specialized Clinic for dermatology, venereology, dermatosurgery, as well as aesthetic and cosmetic dermatology. It is located on Boulevard “Skobelev” №26, Sofia, Bulgaria. The main activity of this clinic is focused on the precise diagnostics, recommendations and treatment of various skin diseases including also all types of skin cancer (melanocytic and non-melanocytic skin tumors).
The clinic works closely with a high number of national and several international dermatohistopathological Units in Europe and the US, as well as with several reputable specialized European centers and University clinics with internationally recognized standards and authority in diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.
With its long history in the fields of dermatologic surgery and dermatologic oncology, Onkoderma clinic caters for patients from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Turkey, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Consultations are carried out after enrollment. The price of the primary medical consultation/examination with a habilitated person (Professor, dermatologist/dermatosurgeon) is 100€ (195.58 BGN). The cost of a secondary medical examination is 55€ (107.57 BGN). Dermoscopy is 30€ (58.67 BGN). The institution doesn’t work with The NZOK – the national health insurance company!
A large number of outpatient dermatological surgical procedures are carried out in the dermatological unit according to the volumes of surgical activity admissible/allowed for the specialty Dermatology and Venereology (surgical removal of nevi, thin melanomas; small basal cell and squamous-cell carcinomas with the respective field of surgical security; surgical removal of warts and fibromas; skin and mucosal diagnostic biopsies), STD diagnostics and treatments (DNA diagnostics for oncogenic and non-oncogenic HPV papilloma viruses – genotyping, PCR-based genotyping of all kinds of sexually transmitted diseases, such as Gardnerella vaginalis, Candidiasis, Trichomoniasis, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Mycoplasmas), diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases (Atopic dermatitis, Psoriasis Vulgaris, Lupus Erythematosus, Scleroderma, Dermatomyositis), infectious (fungi on the nails, genital warts, seborrheic dermatitis, herpes simplex and other viral infections), acne and other rare diseases and syndromes; diagnosis and treatment of all kinds of allergic diseases; testing of patients (including early diagnosis in children) suspected to different types of food allergies and allergies to inhaled allergens, including pollen, mold, dust mites, animals – a horse, dog, cat.
Medium to large volumes of surgical interventions in patients with skin tumors requiring general anesthesia or lymph node removal are performed (after a consultative examination) in subsequently provided by Onkoderma specialized dermatosurgical units.
